Penn's Cave Trip

For our vacation during July of 2017, Kelly mentioned that she wanted to go to Penn's Cave.  So off we went on a 3 hour, 160 mile trip south east to see America's only all water cavern.

The first stop before entering the cave is the former Penn's cave hotel.  This building is currently privately owned.  Right next door is the gift shop where tickets are also sold for the boat tour.

After purchasing tickets we walked down hill to the mouth of the cavern where the boat launch is located.

Even though it was a warm July day the cave was nice and cool.  The year round cave temperature is a steady 52°.  I was glad that I brought a jacket, after a 45 minuet boat ride 52° feels pretty cold.  Without any further or due, here are some of the scenes from our tour of Penn's cave.

After finishing our boat ride through the cavern, it was time to find somewhere to eat for dinner.  on our route to Penn's cave we had passed through a small town named Center Hall.  while in Center Hall we noticed a pizzeria and Italian restaurant.  Brothers pizza & Italian restaurant, is possibly one of the best tasting pizzas I've ever had.  If I ever make it back to Penn's cave, I will definitely be eating at that restaurant again!
